Happy Tuesday D&D Fam! A couple weeks ago Zach & I visited his parent’s house & it took me back to the day we got married as does every time we visit them! His parents live out on a gorgeous farm & when it was wedding planning time I just knew that was the PERFECT place for us to start our forever! I did a walk through of where it all went down & even showed you the altar that is still standing down by the pond over on Insta Stories but I wanted to share with you our wedding video that brings it all to life!
Zach and I have been married for over 3 years! WOW…Three years!! Crazy how fast time flies when you’re in love. 🙂
How We Met
I still remember the first time we met like it as yesterday. It was August, the start of my Junior Year, his Senior Year in college and I got this great idea to start the year out strong by going for a run. We’ve all had that idea right? haha Couldn’t run myself so I invited a friend to go with me. We were finishing up when we noticed a couple guys walking not far behind us. We ignored them for a little bit but every time we turned around they were there. Now I know this may sound a little creepy and you’re thinking we should run away from them but this time it was different. Trust me. So we continued to ignore them when my friend decided to slow down “on accident” so they could “accidentally” catch up with her. Me? I thought it would be best to just keep walking in case they were trouble. haha
The next thing I know, Zach came running up to me & asked if I was going to slow down or keep ignoring them. Busted. Okay, I’ll slow down. We ended up walking & talking for the next 3 hours not wanting the night to end. This is going to sound so cheesy, but it is a true story – I remember after he walked me to my dorm I went to my dorm room, smiled the BIGGEST smile, full of butterflies in my stomach, and told my roommate, “He’s the one. The one who I’m gonna marry someday.” I know you’re thinking that’s so cliche of my to say. But honest, I felt something I’d never felt before. I had never met anyone like him and still to this day he is genuinely the best person I know. The most caring, thoughtful, goofy, hard working, and loving man. God sure did know what he was doing when he put Zach in my life.
From that day on we were together just about every single day. Went on our first date to Olive Garden on his birthday September 25, 2013 & the rest is history. 🙂
Love is a beautiful thing.
It makes you want to be a better person in all aspects of life! Gives you a reason to wake up in the morning & a reason to dream at night. Love is empowering. My dear- if you’re single, still longing, hoping to meet ‘the one’ – wait for him. I promise he is out there. Just as I’d sworn off boys for the rest of my life, God had a different plan. God has a plan for each and every one of you too. Believe me – you will know when you’ve met him. Enjoy this time. It makes meeting ‘the one’ mean so much more.
