Welcome to Denim and Details (D+D), a blog where I express my love for all things fashion. I started this blog to document the things I love – from my style, to online shopping, and all the details in between. I am lucky to be able to start this blog as a “summer hobby.” I know nothing regarding blogging, but the idea intrigued me as I found myself helping dear friends style outfits and spending countless hours mulling through fashion blogs and stories on Instagram. This idea of having a creative outlet where I can share my passion with others drives my decision to step outside my comfort zone and take on this new adventure. While D+D is primarily a fashion blog I like to think it’s not your average “style blog.” Yes, I will be writing mainly about fashion, but I like to keep it “real”. You will also find bits and pieces of personal tips, thoughts on fitness and tidbits of my life scattered throughout the styled posts and shopping round ups.
My Mission with Denim and Details is to serve YOU by making life easier, especially when it comes to putting together outfits, shopping online, and focusing on the little details. As Charles Eames said, “The details are not the details; they are the design.” I truly believe in this quote and I hope to help you focus on the beauty that lies within the details that make you who you are.
Although fashion is my main focus, I make an effort to cover other topics such as fitness, beauty, and living a positive lifestyle. Regardless of how or in what way (as cheesy as it may be☺), I hope at the end of the day I bring a smile to your face, and help you feel refreshed, uplifted, and empowered to embrace the details that make up who you are, a beautiful design.
I’m from Sikeston, MO, but currently live in Nashville with my husband, Zach, (married in 2015) and our fur baby, Cooper. I am the older of 2 kids (I have 1 sister) and attended Freed Hardeman University where I studied Elementary Education and graduated with a K-6 Certification.
Shopping, cleaning, and reading are a few of my favorite things to do. I adore meeting people and love listening just about as much as I love talking. I’m that friend you bring along if you want to avoid any “awkward silence” moments because I won’t let that happen! Haha ☺ I’m a planner and I love making lists! If I don’t have a list made of what I need to do, I won’t get anything done! There’s also just something about marking items off your list that is so satisfying! Am I right or am I right? When it comes to food, my go-to is Mexican or Mac n Cheese. But now, let’s not forget about dessert, Strawberry Cake with a side of any type of ice cream is my kind of dessert! I thoroughly enjoy treating myself to a mani/pedi and find myself strolling down the aisles of Target more often then I should! ☺ I always have a yummy candle burning and “feel good” acoustics playing in the background while I work.
I’m an extravert by nature and love spending my free time out exploring the world and learning new things but I also enjoy being snuggled on the couch watching a good movie or Netflix (duh). Traveling is fun and I try to get out and see new things as much as I can! My favorite destination is the beach or anywhere tropical but I will travel anywhere the good Lord takes me! Last but certainly not least, I have a LOVE for clothes. SO yeah, I am obsessed with clothes. I like to shop. I love to get dressed up. I love to help others get dressed up. As Maria Sharapova says, “When you look good, you feel good. Confidence with what you’re wearing is very important. If you feel good, you will always perform your best without worrying about anything.” This is my mantra that I live by each day. There’s just something so empowering about being dressed and ready for the day. I feel better about myself and am usually much more productive when I feel put together and dressed for whatever the day may bring!
Thank you for stopping by!
